Very rare and interesting items.    Jerry Garcia is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the enduring San Francisco Rock band the Grateful Dead. As a young man, he found his interests divided between visual and musical expression. He attended San Francisco Art Institute in the early sixties where he studied with Wally Hedrick and Elmer Bischoff. Music came to his full attention, but he never stopped sketching and painting. His work with visual arts has always been a personal amusement.   These books served as a creative outlet for Jerry while he was on the go. You can almost imagine Jerry on tour or cruising down Haight street with any one of these sketchbooks in his back pocket.   Another interesting note inside one of these sketchbooks has the phone number of Mickey Hart, which dates the books back to the late 60's when Jerry and Mickey first met.
