This famous print is from the 'Second Book of Fifty Drawings' published by Leonard Smithers in 1899 as a Limited Edition of 1000 copies. The print is in good condition printed on clay surfaced paper. In 1895, ill and in financial straits Beardsley accepted a job as a draughtsman for Leonard Smithers. In 1897 Smithers published a collection of Beardsley's pen drawings, 'A Book of Fifty Drawings' the first collection of the artist's work. This was followed by the Second Book in 1899.
