After studying at the Scientific and Literary Institute of San Luis Potosí he was transferred to the city of Mexico, where he taught classes in the Preparatory National School (1912 - 1917). Governor of San Luis Potosí was delegated federal and due to his participation in the escobarista rebellion he was exiled four years. He returned to the country in 1933 and organized the Revolutionary Confederation of Independent Parties, of which he was president. During the Cardenista administration he assumed the position director of the National Library; later he was chief of a main directorate of information, then Secretariat of Interior, and director of the Office of pensions of the ISSSTE. President Alema'n named ambassador of Mexico in Sweden, and during succession of president Ruiz Cortines he was  also in Denmark. To his return to Mexico he dedicated himself writing in newspapers and magazines. In 1962 he received the medal Belisario Domínguez.
