YOU WILL BE TAUGHT:     Preparing the wood panel (with gesso, linen, and cotton), transferring the design to a panel, applying gold leaf, mixing pigments with egg emulsion, painting details, and using varnishes for protective purposes.  By the end of the workshop you will have completed an icon and will have acquired sufficient knowledge of the egg tempera technique to continue painting icons.   Or, you may choose to utilize the egg tempera technique to create works of art in a contemporary style.    The video includes instruction on mistakes and how to fix them, and extra coaching on painting face and hands areas, drapery, jewelry, and highlights.   It also includes a variety of beautiful icons for your inspiration.
