It includes complete and detailed explanations and demonstrations for EVERY STEP in the creative process. Minimum theory. Maximum practice. YOU WILL BE TAUGHT:     Preparing the wood panel (with gesso, linen, and cotton), transferring the design to a panel, applying gold leaf, mixing pigments with egg emulsion, painting details, and using varnishes for protective purposes.  By the end of the workshop you will have completed an icon and will have acquired sufficient knowledge of the egg tempera technique to continue painting icons.   Or, you may choose to utilize the egg tempera technique to create works of art in a contemporary style.    The video includes instruction on mistakes and how to fix them, and extra coaching on painting face and hands areas, drapery, jewelry, and highlights.   It also includes a variety of beautiful icons for your inspiration. ADDED FEATURES OF THE PROFESSIONAL LEVEL VIDEO: You will receive two of my beautiful designs of icons with DVD Workshop. The first is the "Mother of God-Shuiu-Smolensk" icon (Hodegetria) and the second is "The Unsleeping Eye of Our Lord".
