Titled "the Tightrope Walker." It is a beautiful, colored piece, the full sheet 15 x 22 inches (380 x 560mm). Guaranteed not to be a print or lithograph. Some aging of the paper, condition is excellent. Sold unframed.     This piece comes from the private collection of ex-British government official Leslie Duxbury.  Mr.  Duxbury was a documented friend of famous gallerist and art dealer Herbert Tannenbaum, Mannheim, Germany. There are numerous famous pieces throughout the museums of the world that were from Herbert Tannenbaum and the Tannenbaum galleries.  Gifted to the son in 1961.  Purchased in 2006 directly from the son, who was kind enough to sell me a portion of his outstanding collection.    Chagall is well know for his beautiful circus pieces. Please note the wonderful side drawings of other circus characters (alongside the Tightrope Walker) that make this a superior piece for the real collector.      Documents that will be included to the winner of the auction: 1)Original Provenance document signed by the son of Leslie Duxbury that will detail the sale in 2006.
