This a photo taken in 1963 of the greats , Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Henry Geldzahler, and Jeff Goodman . This litho was done for The Geldzahler Portfolio in 1997. This litho is limited edition of 75, this litho is 39/75. Signed ,Numbered and Dated in Pencil. The size of this piece is 19 3/4 x 29 1/2 inches, and is in Mint condition. Never been framed & and stored flat. Here is a little information on the portfolio that this litho was done for. During the 1960s, Henry Geldzahler (1935-1994) oversaw the creation of the Department of Twentieth Century Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he subsequently organized the landmark exhibition New York Painting and Sculpture: 1940-1970. In 1967, he was named the first director of the Visual Art Program of the National endowment for the Arts, and he later became the Commissioner of Cultural Affairs for the City of New York. Geldzahler championed young artists all his professional life, and when the AIDS epidemic struck, he poured his boundless energy into AIDS-related causes. This portfolio, published by The Estate Project for Artists with AIDS, brings together works in honor of Geldzahler by several noted contemporary artists, including Louise Bourgeois, David Hockney, Jasper Johns, Ellsworth Kelly,Dennis Hopper, Roy Lichtenstein, David Salle, and Frank Stella. Included in the exhibition is a video of Andy Warhol's 1964 film portrait Henry Geldzahler. This is a rare piece and is hard to find.
