Extremely Rare Forain Original 1898-1902 Lithograph Printof Young Woman from the BackWe have uncovered another amazing forgotten treasure!This auction is for an Extremely Rare Forain Original 1898-1902 Lithograph Print. The beautiful print depicts a nude young woman turned away from the artist. The subject of this drawing is seen in a bent over position, showing emotion in its raw form.Etude de Nus, de Dos is the name of this extraordinary piece (Johnson 48). This is an Original Color lithograph, circa. 1898-1902. One of four works done for a proposed Vollard portfolio of original prints by Forain, Renoir, Cezanne, and others. This beautiful lithograph was never editioned, and only a few impressions of this young woman seated and seen from the rear were ever printed. According to Una Johnson's Museum of Modern Art Exhibition catalogue, Ambroise Vollard Editeux, only a few impressions exist. The bottom right corner shows the stamped signature. The image is 220mm x 160mm, approximately 8.66" x 6.3". You will never see this print again because of the so few that were printed. Usually these types of original authentic lithographs are kept in private collections and never brought out for auction.
