Frank Vittors works can be found standing in parks, adorning bridges, highways, coins, stamps, churches, hotels, government buildings and Ball Parks commemorating historical events, wars and people throughout history. His commissioned protrait bust and plaques of over 200 male and female personalities include such people as Mark Twain, Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge and Woodrow Wilson, Miss America 1936, and Honus Wagner all done from life. The list could go on and on. Frank Vittor was born into a family of artists and began sculpting when he was 9 years old. He was educated at the Academy of Breta in Milan under Bazarro and at Rodin's studio in Paris. He came to America in 1906 as a protege of Standford White, who was killed a week later after Vittor arrived. He worked for Augustus Saint-Gaudens for several years and was an assistant teacher of sculpture classes at Cooper Union. Eventually he became an established sculptor in New York.
