Dimensions: approximately 48" long by 28" wide. Medium: art quilt: machine pieced, appliquéd, embroidered and quilted. Hand braided & beaded. Oval shaped woven brass beads strung on braided fibers composed of various yarns and cording, some are metallic. Cotton quilt batting, and quilted with metallic threads. Signed: front side, lower right in thread. Installation: This quilt art tapestry can be framed or easily hung from a rod like a tapestry. All were exhibited at the Fine Art Of Fiber at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, Glencoe, Illinois. Falling Leaves # 1 well as Falling Leaves #4 & #5 are currently listed in my eBay store under the Autumn Category. The following pieces in the series sold 1998: Falling Leaves #2 (40" x 36" sold on exhibit for $1000) & Falling Leaves # 3 (18" x 12" sold at same exhibit for $125.) Improvisation patchwork triangle appliquéd to a luxurious black special occasion apparel fabric.   Quilted leaves and brass woven beads strung from braids.     Dimensional leaf with embroidered veins.   Braids composed of various fibers like yarn and cording. Some are metallic.   Oval shaped woven brass beads strung on braided fibers.   Artist Statement Award-winning & self-taught artist Linda M. Olszanski specializes in creating Quilt Art collages that portray metaphorical imagery inspired by nature and science. Linda composes improvisational styled collage quilts with a variety of fabrics, threads, and embellishments.
