Description
Francis Bacon work on paper approx, 16x20 inches was done in a series of lessons I had with artist Francis Bacon in 1985, while a student of art and mathematics. At the time I was preparing my thesis for the university on complex mathematics and infinite spaces and how these space models related to Bacon's work. I stage a trip to London and met the artist. Upon meeting the artist, I express to him my thesis on non-Euclidean geometry, which made him puzzled and force him to engage with me in a series of intellectual discussions and session art lessons in order to explain the phenomenon behind his work. This led to a series of works on paper and books. I have included a picture with Francis Bacon and the artist signing books for me in 1985. This particular work is done on paper with gauche and mounted fragment of the poster 1985 Francis Bacon Retrospective Exhibition at Tate gallery in 1985. The work is hand painted and signed by the artist. I have a low a starting price, considering the rarity of the piece. Please google or yahoo ( Nelson Diaz Francis Bacon artist). And you will see why I have taken this path oppose to traditional auction houses. Please be advice that I may refuse risky or bidders with less than 10 transaction. I will answer questions to serious bidders only. I will not ship to risky countries, check with me before bidding. Colors may shift due to monitor. All sales are final. ADDED******( Sept 5th)------Sorry for the confusion and the mistake. The size is 16x20 not 11x17 like stated before . This is not a print nor a painting. It is the Tate Gallery poster of 1985 mounted on paper, hand painted and signed. Bacon was known to rip images out of books and make reference marks. This was part of his creative MO. This is all it is!! Concerning provenance Google (Nelson Diaz Francis Bacon artist) and you will find an article " Unseen Bacon Sketches Adds Sizzle To Auction" and others. Also,I have added other detail photos. I hope it is clearer. Thanks for the questions.
