Description
This large masterpiece, "Holsteins", created in 1976 is of two cows and is painted with acrylic on canvas.  It is painted using symbolic images and patterns in a grid theme.  The painting's dimentions are 5 1/2 feet by 7 1/2 feet.  The artist describes the style as Modern with influences of Op and Pop and Abstract Impressionism.   Ron Peat is a northern California artist with an M.A. degree from Humboldt StateUniversity and an M.F.A. degree from East Texas State University.    The focus ofhis work for the past 25 years has been concerned with images and patterns within agrid structure which he has fabricated into three dimensions and divided into multiplecanvases on occasion.  He tends to use a lot of personal and dream like or symbolic imagery in his paintings and drawings.  He currently uses acrylic paints, but has used oils, water color and gouache in the past.  He is concerned with a highly activated and charged surface with multiple structures, systems, and networks.  He has works inpermanent collections at San Francisco State University, Sacramento State University andEast Texas State University in addition to works in private collections.  Ron's work has been featured in dozens of art shows and exibitions in California from 1965 to the present.   A larger picture of this painting can be downloaded at the link below. http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=vmhb096jj1n&thumb=4   Packaging, shipping, and insurance costs are included in the price of this painting.
