Out of the edition of 75 copies pulled on Mandeure rag paperCondition: This work is in excellent condition, a bold impression with bright, vibrant colors with a clearly defined plate mark all around Description:Les Deux Amis is one of Miró’s grandest prints, whose large scale and bold, beautiful colors allow its viewers to be completely enveloped in his own, abstract, surrealist world. Two massive, organic and curved forms serve as our Two Friends, both depicted in heavy, black outlining with accents of bright reds, blues, yellows, and greens. The background is littered with Miró’s signature star bursts and geometric shapes that evoke a whimsical, light-hearted energy throughout the composition. This is a work that must be seen in person, as both the surface texture from the Carborundum and its large size are two important elements that Miró has incorporated into this piece, allowing for an engaging viewing experience. Created in 1969, this etching & aquatint with Carborundum is signed in pencil by Joan Miró (1893-1983) in the lower right and numbered 58/75 in pencil in the lower left. Published by Maeght éditeur, Paris and printed by Atelier Maeght, Saint-Paul on Mandeure rag paper. This work is out of the total edition of 75 signed and numbered prints. Catalogue Raisonné & COA:It is fully documented and referenced in the below catalogue raisonnés and texts (copies will be enclosed as added documentation with the invoices that will accompany the final sale of the work): 1. About the Framing:Set in a Spanish-style, stepped gold and black frame, the sleek, modern detailing of the moulding compliments the meandering curved shapes within the image. The black and gold coloration of the frame also serves to enhance the contrasting colors within the piece. Completed with white, linen-wrapped mats with a matching gold inner fillet, this lithograph is set behind an archival Plexiglas® cover. Who is Masterworks Fine Art?
