Miró has awarded this work a slightly humorous sentiment, giving our subject a cartoon-like aura and a playful disposition. Using his classic, surrealist imagery of starbusts, bold, black strokes of form, and use of blocking with primary colors, this work captures our imagination and leaves a lasting impression on all who are allowed into Miró’s world subconscious, creative characters. Created in 1976, this work is hand signed by Joan Miró (1893 – 1983) in pencil in the lower right and numbered 48/50 in pencil in the lower left (aside from the roman numeral edition of 13) . Published by Maeght, Paris and printed by Morsang, Paris on Arches paper.
