R. Wainwright is now available for purchase. Wainwright's collection of Notre Dame football, baseball, basketball, fencing art, and campus scenes covers the glorious years from 1967 (Ara Parsegian) to 1994 (Lou Holtz). Original paintings, transparencies, color negatives, football programs, football guides, posters, prints, pins of the ten greatest football games, lighted illustrations, and letters from various coaches make up this mega portfolio of sports memorabilia. Wainwright's work features all Heismen Trophy winners and signatures, all-American line backers, quarterbacks, and linebackers. Such players as Paul Hornung, Joe Montana, Rocky Blier, Jerome Bettis, and other great players are featured. In addition, famous coaches who are highlighted are Knute Rockne, Frank Leahy, Ara Parseigian, Dan Devine, and Lou Holtz. Great events such as National Championship Coaches, National 1988 Lou Holtz Championship (the official commissioned artwork), Ten Greatest Football Games, and 100 Years of Notre Dame Football Poster, featuring over one-hundred players and coaches. Part of this collection also consists of the artwork Wainwright created for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the now defunct American Football League Philadelphia Stars Art and Helmet with Jersey and Cap. About the Artist: J. R. Wainwright now in his 70s owned and operated one of the top design firms in the Midwest for thirty-five years in South Bend, Indiana. Some of the firms that Wainwright was associated with professionally were Studebaker, Bendix, Associates, Skyline, Coachmen, and Bayer to name a few. During this time Wainwright illustrated approximately 80 paintings for Notre Dame football, basketball, baseball, fencing, and campus scenes. Many of his original paintings are now in the hands of private collectors. After retiring and moving to St. Louis, Missouri, Wainwright's art talent open another door for him. He hooked up with Anheuser-Busch and began designing beer steins for their Collector's Club. To date he has designed and illustrated over 100 steins and was their featured artist for seven years at the Anheuser-Busch Stein Collector's Club signing events, which took him allover the United States.Wainwright has added to his artistic legacy by being recognized as a painter of the Clydesdale. One of his prints of the Clydesdale horses was used as an Anheuser-Busch Club promotion. It took him a week to sign all 12,000 of them for distribution to club members.
