This portrait of Obama is about how, when elected, he will face great challenges for the nation.  In the background one sees a cityscape made out of infinity signs.  This symbolizes the uncertainty of the times that will be the backdrop to his presidency.  On Obama's forhead we find a "third eye" that is emitting and transmitting knowledge to and from the viewer of the painting.  The composition is nearly cut into two halves vertically.  This represents the dual nature of political life, especially during election time...the private and the public. Although this is a painting about hope for an insightful new president, it also shows that we are in fragmented and uncertain times.About Jeffrey LipskyI am an artist from Tyngsboro Massachusetts, USA and have been painting and drawing my whole life. In 1999 I graduated from Montserrat College of Art with a BFA. I have worked in real life as the Director of an art center, and in the world of Second Life as an art community organizer.
