Straight out of an estate in West Tennessee. The little old Mennonite / Amish lady's family made these rugs for years, but due to poor health, she stopped a long time ago. Over 2 pickup truck loads of torn fabric were found in her house, ready to be woven into rugs. This is a real primitive style braided and tied rug. Not a woven wool rug, but a rug actually made from old worn out dresses, shirts, blouses, or whatever else was available. The olive-green and earth-tones are unusual colors for an old primitive country rug. Rug is in excellent condition, with no holes, just normal fading. It was found in an old cedar closet, and is one of the largest rag rugs I have seen. Measures a whopping 84" x 60" and is quite heavy.
