This is an original acrylic painting by Theresa Stahl, called (not surprisingly), "The Frog".  The star of the piece...a quiet, contemplative frog...sits gazing into the eyes of a carved stone maiden. A twist on the "kiss a frog...find a prince" fairy tale! We've had some interesting conversation about the possible transformations that could come about in this situation. (My 14 year old daughter asked, "If the frog kisses her, will she become real?") Frogs are quite symbolic of transformation...of metamorphosis...of coming into one's own creative power. The lush, leafy green background & deep colors of this piece are enhanced with protective varnish. This  original painting measures 11" x 14" and is painted on stretched cotton canvas. All edges are painted, so no framing required.
