Description
A Beautiful Signed Original Seascape Clipper Ship Painting. Oil on 48" by 24" canvas and nice frame. Signed lower right by the artist "K. Haskell". I believe this artist is a descendant of the family of John Haskell Kemble, editor of "The Panama Canal: The Evolution of the Isthmian Crossing." Early Haskells to California include: D.H. Haskell (arrived on the SS Tennessee on March 6, 1853) J. L. Haskell (arrived on the SS Golden Gate on January 9, 1852), J. Haskell (arrived on the SS Indiana on January 8, 1852) J. Haskell (arrived on the SS North America on March 23, 1853) Henry W. Haskell was a member of an early mining company A.W. Haskell was in port from Boston in 1851. The canvas appears to be from the 1950's or 60's. Exact age is unknown. The painting is in very good condition. The "Maritime Heritage Project" of San Francisco has a smaller original painting by the same artist for sale right now on their web site for $100,000. International shipping requires extra cost and will be shipped USPS Priority Mail International. Email for a quote to your country. If you win multiple items, we will combine and reduce charges accordingly. We accept Paypal, personal checks, business checks, cashiers checks, and money orders. Watch for our other auctions on Ebay, and good luck bidding!
