Description
'Neighbors' - an original oil painting by the late Martin Rosenthal (1899-1974). Oil on canvas; 50X64, signed, unframed, excellent condition. Painting is signed and dated 1969. This painting was part of a series the artist began in the late 1960s in a style he referred to as 'Future People'; these were the last images he painted. These works were never seen until after the artist's death in 1974. Martin Rosenthal was born in Woburn, Mass. in 1899. He completed military service in 1925 and then studied at the Art Students League with classmates John Sloan, Robert Henri and Boardman Robinson. As George Luks' associate at the Luks School of Painting - he also taught at Luks' summer home.
