Description
This piece is titled "Crystal Years". It's size is 8.5 x 11 ~pastel. The work was created by artist Julia Bottoms. With it's attention to color and it's relationship to independent light sources accompanied by overall illumination, this piece is sure to captivate time after time. The enigmatic nature of the subject matter itself is refreshing. It hints at the underlying theme which is "The effect of the years as well as the isolation which it sometimes secures". Such isolation may be looked upon negatively, but rather the artist chooses to convey this message in a positive tone. Her use of the singular beam illuminating the agate and hand is a metaphor.
