Description
akapurasaka Store From a private collection, here are a pair of exquisitely drawn charcoal & colored pencil renderings by French artist Armengol, hand-drawn & hand-signed, circa 1905. They are quite stunning and are meant to be sold as a set. Their dimensions are inpressive, at 29 x 22 inches total, image dimensions 17.5 x 24 inches. They are both in their original frames and will be shipped that way. They are a fairly important pair of drawings in that there are not many pre 1910 works of art like these floating around, especially still together as a set! One of these drawings (the Le Rapt) sold last year on Ebay Live Auctioneers for $1,500, and all the data as well as pics still exist of it: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/3776916 . That rendering had some corner areas of loss to boot- here we have 2 complete renderings in great undamaged condition! One is titled Le Rapt, the other, Hors de Poursuite, and they concern a young racer and his beautiful companion as they whirl about the French countryside ignorant of the worrying folks around them. They race around a corner whilst a cherub thumbs his nose at a gendarme in one drawing, while the other sees the racer arriving back at his young lady's house, much to the dismay of her worrying parents. The cherub appears in that one also. Again, they are in very good or better condition, having been protected in their frames very well. Shipping weight will be about 17-20 lbs, and for items of this value I only ship Global Priority Guaranteed (with tracking numbers) outside the USA- probably 75.00 or so- but inquire if in Europe. rare chance to secure a pair of drawings that will only rise in value.
