Description
This is an original hand-etched black marble ACEO. It is one of a kind and will not be duplicated in any form. My affinity for drawing animals has grown since discovering this medium. Etching allows for great depth; the more you look, the more detail you see. Each 6mm (about 1/8" to 3/16"), 3.5 x 2.5 (ACEO size) marble tablet is polished on both sides and all edges are finely beveled. Please see photo with packaging to get an outdoor view of these beautiful little tablets. The image is hand-etched with a diamond tipped rotary tool. The image is created by slowly removing tiny bits of the polished surface. There is no whitening agent added. This is a painstaking and time intensive process that allows for no editing. Once the polish is removed, it cannot be replaced. The marble itself is a deep black and has a wonderful smooth feel to it. Marble is a relatively soft stone and actually warms in your hand.Your ACEO is protected with several applications of marble sealer. Handling your ACEO is encouraged as the image changes in appearance in different lighting situations. As it is a natural stone product, there will be small flecks in the surface that catch the light. All marble ACEOs are slipped into a glassine envelope and then a velveteen pouch for storage. The back is lightly signed and dated. I include instructions for care with all my stone pieces.I take great care in my packaging and ship in a very sturdy (if small) box. This fits nicely into a U.S. Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope. On Aug-20-08 at 17:23:16 PDT, seller added the following information:**Please note this is not a laser etching. No lasers or other methods of transfer have been used to create this image. It is completely done by hand**
