Meet Damen, Spider King of Murkia: King Damen is his name, and spiders are his game!     Damen's Queen is the lovely Lana, the Prettiest Girl in the land -- although she's had some second thoughts about this arrangement!!   Queen Lana is also up for bids, on another auction. I designed these dolls to make a statement separately, but they would look cute together, too. This auction is for King Damen ONLY.   **Damen will look extra spooky near a light source, as the first layer of black fabric is crinkled and sheer!    King Damen seems pretty gleeful, doesn't he? And why not?! He's got the Girl, the Kingdom, and all the spiders a Pumpkin King could ever need, at his command!    This doll was sewn of osnaburg, with hand-painted features. His pumpkin color is creamy white, and lighting casts a warm, gold glow.   King Damen's crown is stiffened black Venice lace, held in place with pins. Pumpkin 'leaves' are wired silk ribbon, and a twisted stem serves as a hanger...   .... for a spider minion! I had difficulty getting details on this closeup, but the spider is glittered and hangs by invisible thread.  Fun, fun!   High quality quilt shop fabric and gold pom-poms dress this King! I've given him fancy trims with specialty yarns.   A delicate web adds drama, and is just pinned onto the back of the doll.
