A Kingdom.... PreciousJewels... A Dazzling Palace... not to mention, the Handsome King!   But no one said anything about SPIDERS!  Eeeek!!    That's exactly what happens, when you fall head over heels.... and oops, forget to ask the important questions!   Lana is Queen to King Damen, the most handsome Pumpkin Man  in all the Land -- (how could she resist that smile?! )    King Damen is also up for bids, on another auction.  I designed these dolls to make a statement separately, but they would also look cute together. This auction is for Queen Lana ONLY.   **She'll look extra spooky near a light source, as the first layer of black fabric is crinkled and sheer.   If Queen Lana seems mildly horrified, it's because she is! This was not what she had in mind, at All....  Spiders, spiders, Everywhere! And, the dazzling castle is quite a bit darker than she'd imagined...   (Umm, the jewels, ARE nice, though... this one is a vintage rhinestone brooch...)    On second thought....  Oh well.. sometimes you've just gotta take the bad with the good! A little spook here and there might be tolerable!   Lana was sewn of osnaburg, with hand-painted features. Her pumpkin color is creamy white, and lighting casts a warm, gold glow.   Her crown is stiffened black Venice lace, held in place with pins. Pumpkin 'leaves' are wired silk ribbon, and a twisted stem serves as a hanger...   .... for those pesky spiders that keep *dropping* in unexpectedly!   (The spider is coated in black glitter, and hangs by an invisible thread.)   This doll was inspired by Halloween fabric, all the rage this season, and vintage postcards that I love!  I wanted to design a vintage style doll, with my own twist. Lana's little dress is accented with fancy trims and specialty yarns.   A delicate web adds drama, and is just pinned onto the back of the doll.
