(Watts), n.d. (1962)Four different stamps (although two are still joined together) produced by Robert Watts as a contribution to Fluxus - the neo-dada art movement led by George Maciunas which included Yoko Ono, George Brecht, Ay-o, John Lennon. Emmett Williams, Alison Knowles, Nam June Paik, Saito, Charlotte Mooreman as members to name just a few. The stamps are printed in green on white gummed paper and were hand cut from a larger sheet - although two of the stamps here are still joined together. the images on the cards are photcollages - using on all of them "cheesecake" images of naked females. The sizes of these stamps are (left to right on the photo) - 4.5 x 2.6; 4.6 x 2.6; and the two conjoined stamps are each 2.6 x 2.4cm - making the whole 2.6 x 4,8cm. These are scarce items and are the first edition - not the later Walker Art Centre reprint from the later 1990s (which we also hold copies of and can compare these against). the first two larger stamps have slight abrasions to the paper on the unprinted gummed side but that is only a very minor flaw and are otherwise mint examples - the other two joined stamps are mint.Robert Watt's stamps are highly sought after and complete sheets cost a great deal of money - while not complete these would be a fine addition to any conceptual art, Fluxus or cinderella (pretend or imaginary) stamp collection.We ship world wide including USA, Canada and mail land europe as well as the UK - we insist on full insurance and a shipping option that allows tracking and signed for documentation.
