The work is Signed, Numbered and Dated on the bottom of the work. The work has NEVER been framed. Robert Rauschenberg was born on October 22, 1925 in the town of Port Arthur, Texas by the name Milton Ernst Rauschenberg before changing his name as an adult to Robert. Rauschenberg is recognized as one of the 20th century's most influential and prolific artists. He is credited with bridging the gap between the movements of Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. A pioneer of the "Transfer Drawing" process, he experimented in technologically sophisticated combinations of photographs and drawings. Sadly, Rauschenberg succumbed to heart failure on May 12, 2008.
