The painting is signed and dated by the artist, R. Schwartz 5 - 90. It has never been in a gallery although it was appraised by the Hackett Freedman Gallery in San Francisco for $5000 on July 7th, 2003, a little over 5 years ago. Robert and I were acquainted and shared conversations about art and artists and even exchanged portraits; thus the ridiculously low original price (the receipt, signed in the artist's hand and the appraisal from the Hackett Freedman Gallery will be included in the sale as provenance).
