In my opinion, these drawings are a Male and Female sea-dragon type character. One of the things I noticed after having the drawings for a few weeks is that in the larger one there seems to be a hidden face. To me, it looks like a self-portrait of Dali because he uses the curl in the tail as his mustache. the neck part of the dragon is an eye, part of the "D" in his signature is the other eye, the fin of the creature is the nose and the horizon line is the mouth. Again, this is just an opinion of mine but I see it quite clearly. The larger one is just under 12 in x 8.5 in. The smaller one is just under 9.5 in x aprox. 6.375 in. I added a photo of a woodblock engraving from the Divine Comedy by Dali which sold at R & R Enterprises a while back. They are a highly respected autograph auction house which uses PSA/DNA authentication, note the similarity to the signature of the smaller drawing I am auctioning. The engraving is not part of this auction. I showed these drawings to them and they said the "D" in Dali does not quite match.     Place a Bid!
