Description
Up for grabs here is a Shepard Fairey 2008 Hope Barack Obama offset signed lithograpgh in mint condition. The print measures 24" x 36", is numbered 257 of 600, and signed Shepard Fairey '08. This is THE iconic Obama image that this monumental election will be remembered for. I purchased this print directly from Shepard Fairey and I will include a copy of my paypal receipt (with my personal info 'blacked out') with this item. This iconic image has been selected for the Smithosian to hang at the official national portrait gallery next to Gilbert Stuart's unfinished George Washington. The print will be shipped securely wrapped in kraft paper, inside of a new Yazoo Mills tube. We have been selling street art on ebay for years and specialize in older Shepard Fairey Obey prints. Free insured worldwide shipping is included in the sale price. Buy today and we will ship tomorrow! Confirmed Paypal address's only please. Thanks for looking. The days of Shepard Fairey as an outsider artist are long gone. He began on the street art scene in 1989, while attending RISD in Providence RI, with his Andre The Giant Has A Posse sticker campaign. This later evolved into the "Obey Giant" campaign which spread around the world in what he dubbed "an experiment in phenomenology". In 2003 he began Studio One design agency whose credits include album cover work for Led Zeppelin and Smashing Pumpkins, the movie poster for Walk The Line, and graphic work for Time Magazine, "Man of The Year". More recently the world has become familiar with Shepard's talents through his anti-war propaganda and Barack Obama support posters. Through his progression Fairey’s transition from renegade street artist to insider art professional doesn’t seem to have dulled his radical edge. "If Shepard Fairey comes to your town, every single graffiti writer gets uptight. We don't like Shepard because he makes us feel scared and lazy. I am absolutely positive he has made more reaches than any graffiti writer in history ever has done or ever will. And that means he's won. I once got to go gambling with his wife and she is very lucky." --Banksy
