This painting is signed and painted by the fameus Antwerp painter “Horemans Jan Josef the Elder, Antwerp 1682-1759.” He was a pupil of the sculptor M. van der Voort, then of Jan van Pel. In 1706 he was a master at Antwerp in the Guild of St.Luka. He painted in the style of the famous painters David Teniers de Jonge and Jan Steen. Take a look at the pictures these will tell much more than my description. This painting is absolute in very good condition, no repairs (I look also with the ultra violet lamp) and signed by the artist. The measures of the painting without the frame are about 12 ½” (32cm) x 15 ¾” (40cm). I do not know if the frame is the original one, but this is possible. This is absolute a splendid and ORIGINAL painting from the early 18th century. You will find descriptions of this painter on the internet under the name “Horemans Jan Josef le Vieux”.
