Both parents were accomplished artists and encouraged Simon’s enthusiasm for art throughout his life. He attended the Colchester School of Art and received a fine arts degree in 1982 and his works have been exhibited and sold since then in several London galleries, including the National Portrait Gallery. Simon moved to Los Angeles, California in 1991, where he formed Addyman Arts and works out of his private studio in North Hollywood. His diverse works and special commissions can be found in numerous European and intercontinental American private collections. He is also an accomplished scenic artist having worked on American films. This unique abstract is entitled “Primetime”. It is a signed and dated acrylic on stretched canvas measuring 15 feet x 6 feet. It was originally commissioned by television entertainment executive, Roger Johnson, and his wife, Catherine, an interior decorator, and completed in May, 2000 (date is displayed on the painting as 5.00) for their California home. It was subsequently purchased by us for our home three years later.
