Remigius Geyling is most notably being the stage designer of the Austrian Theater for most of the 20th century, but also is known for painting the alter's at many fine churches to which his most notable was a prayer chapel inbetween an area where battles were fought in the middle of the mountains near his home terrain of Austria. Remigius' family is from the pretigious Geyling Stained glass company. The father, Rudolf Geying' is also a painter of "famous scenes" and his paintings are found in major collections. This painting/mixed media, pastel drawing was done when Remigius was in his 20's. The artist passed away 1974. The only other sale we have seen by Remigius otherthan small drawings or lesser quality paintings was a piece of stained glass that sold for $114,000.00 back in the 1980's. This is the top subect matter for this artist and is truly unlike any other piece we have seen offered by him.I was recently emailed by a fellow ebayer and they summed up the importance of Remigius stating that he was one of the very first "film architects" and that is basically what this work of art is.
