Description
These two Ansel Adams (AA) silver gelatin prints were printed under AA's personal supervision by Alan Ross(AA), his long time darkroom assistant.  The first shot is "Dogwood, Flowers, Yosemite." photographed in 1949, (6 5/8' w x 9 1/2h )"   The second is "Cathedral Spire and Rocks, Late Afternoon," date unkown, it's 9 1/2 w x 7 1/2 h. A collector examined them and said thaey are bothin very good-to-excellent contintion.  I  note no flaws on them.  Neither print is dated, but I suspect they were purchased by my parents on a trip up the California coast coast in the early eighties. I was plesantly surprised works printed by AR under AA's supervision were so valuable.  The last one I found sold at auction went for $3200 in 2007.  A collector told me this is because the image quality AA demanded of AR only prints made during his lifetime was, at minimum, as stringent as what he demanded of his own prints, given he was training AR to be the exclusive printer of his works after he was gone.  AR is now the only person at the Ansel Adams Gallery who prints limited editions from his original negatives. My minimum bid for the two is $3000.  If you only want one, and I find no buyers on the pair at my minumum price, my minimum bid for one is $2000.  If this is the case, whomever offers the highest price would be able to buy it at that price when the auction is complete by my putting it up on ebay  as a "buy it now" at a mutually agreed upon  time. As I am new to selling on Ebay, I will gladly send the photos to you C.O.D. at my expense if that is possible so you can see them before paying, or I'd pay a repudible local gallery to send them to you and verify their authenticity.  Likewise, I am open to other ways you can think of to make your purchase of these awesome works with complete confidence.  Thank-you for looking. Matt.
