Description
I am relisting this item and the other two etchings that did not sell with NO RESERVE, discount shipping if all three peices are bought by the same buyer. Remember that this art has not been sold and resold and is in perfect condition having been totally protected from the elements. Similar peices in Art Galleries sell for hundreds of dollars. This is a great buy on a truly beautiful peice of work. Ugo Baracco limited edition etching of Grand Canal with Church Santa Maria della Salute in background in Venice, Italy. In the mid-90's I traveled to Venice and fell in love with Ugo's works, over a two year period I bought nine works from him. This is one of them. It was bought directly from the artist, it 100 percent Authentic, and it has been hanging in my house for over 10 years. It has only been sold once from the artist to myself. I am not a dealer, just a collector and I hate to sell it but changes in my life require me to do so. The work itself is in perfect condition, it is signed by the artist and numbered 55/80. It must be sold framed, because I had all of his work framed immediately after returning to Texas, and I do not how to remove it. It is professionally matted and framed in a black steel spring locked frame. Frame is in good conditon with some scrapes around the right edge of frame. Framed it is 21 x 12. The picture itself is 16 by 7 . Please feel free to ask me any questions and also check out the other two Ugo Baracco etchings of mine that I am selling. I will ship internationally. About the artist- Ugo Baracco Born in 1949, Ugo Baracco lives and works in Venice. His fine artwork can be found in many galleries and private collections around the world, as well at the Italian Mission to the United Nations in New York City. He has exhibited internationally for over 20 years and his most recent solo exhibitions include Tokyo, London, Paris, California, and New York. The unique beauty of Venice has alway been the source of inspiration for many artists. In the same way, Baracco's work beautifully reflects the illusive magic of Venice with effective mastery. His superb technique, which has its roots in the tradition of the great venetian masters, successfully combines natural formal elements with balance and harmony. Baracco's background as an artist began at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts where he attended the painting and drawing classes. He is specialized in copper plat engraving, etching, and aquatints. The technique Ugo Baracco uses and original antique process to make his limited edition etchings and aquatints. This process, entirely executed by hand, involves covering a zinc or copper plate with a wax-based substance. The design is etched into the wax with a sharp pointed tool exposing the metal. The plate is then put into an acid bath which corrodes the exposed areas. The degree of intensity is achieved by the amount of time the plate is expose to the acid. The final etching is printed on handmade paper. The artist then colors each plate individually which guarantees that no two prints are exactly the same. Each edition is limited and numbered. Controlling all aspects of the creative process is time-consuming and a binding work, but assures quality and originality
