However, due to a back injury that has left me currently disabled I don't have much choice.Brief History:During the start of the war, I was deployed to Iraq (2002-2003). During the course of my combat tour, I encountered a native Iraqi who's brother (The Artist.) had died in an insurgent attack. The Artists family had collected his artwork and brought 3 pieces to me (USD goes a long way in Iraq and the brother and I were friends.) in an effort to sell in order to pay the cost of his funeral. Aside from the painting pictured, the other two works were very small in comparison and obviously much earlier works. While I passed on the two smaller paintings, I fell in love with the exquisite imagery and instantly purchased the painting listed here.Details:Originally purchased on the creators backing, I've had it stretched and re-framed (Expensively I might add.) since my return to the U.S. The painting (Frame included.) measures roughly 36x43. Signed by the Artist and dated 2002. Out of respect for the family, he will remain unnamed; except to serious interested parties via direct contact with me. In addition to the painting, I will include a personally signed affidavit; on military letterhead detailing the authenticity of the painting and the facts and history surrounding it.Shipping:Will be free of cost to the buyer and the painting will be insured in excess of the final auction price.To Interested Parties:If you would like to see more images of the painting, in greater detail, if you are serious about purchasing the work and would like to know the authors name, would like more information or just have questions for me, please feel free to send me a message and I will get back to you as promptly as possible.
