Description
ABOUT THIS PICTURE:  This is a 16"x20" lovely oil painting,(framed).  It comes with a certificate of Authenticity an is signed by the artist.  Carole has worked with and raised several wolves in her lifetime.  This is one of them.  She has had about every color the creator has created them in.   "They are a wonderful animal, but not meant to be pets, especially not for children.   "  Living in the Northwest, too, has given me many an opportunity to study, and see these beautiful elusive creatures in captivity also." ABOUT THE ARTIST:  Carole A. Thompson has lived an outdoor lifestyle in several western states.  Tutoring by her artist/teacher mother prepared her for later instruction by 2 nationally known artists, one being Dee Toscano, well known artist/teacher of Cherokee Indian descent. Numerous awards and sales to private collectors encouraged and challenged her creativity.  Carole has displayed and sold many works of art in the plains states and California.  One of these states was Montana where she had paintings in THE BIG SKY GALLERY and THE YELLOWSTONE ART CENTER. She moved to California where she had showings privately  and for THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. These were of her native american paintings. The late actress and broadway star Ethyl Merman saw and purchased one of her paintings and placed it in her New York apartment in her red and green art room.  She also placed it into the Architectural Digest  along with her other paintings in her personal art collection. Carole's world, as she knew it, collapsed when her mother became ill and bedridden.  She then made the choice of either continuing on with her commercial art career, or caring for her mom at home.  She did this for years until her mother passed on. Something happened during the interval of caring for her mom.  She became the proud owner of several little wolf cubs and was asked to care for them and raise them.  She did this, along with caring for her mom.  This turned out to be a real blessing, as she was able to study, live with , and love these tiny little creatures way into their adult years and beyond. They all died of old age. Carole lives very near some of the largest Native American Reservations in the world.  She is getting to know the Navajo, Hopi, and Apache up above her in the White Mountains.  She is now painting  and living rurally outside of a small town named, Snowflake Arizona. " I live near BLM land and see many wonderful animals around our Arizona home. " (High in the desert areas, with Junipers and rattlesnakes), but love to remember the years I spent in the beautiful Northwest also".  Carole Paints in Oils, Acrylics and pastels.
