SERIOUS PRINCIPALS ONLY__ NO AGENTS Ted Williams: Photographer Biography Ted Williams attended Chicago's Institute of Design where he studied with such luirtinaries as Aaron Siskind, Harry Callahan, Buckminster Fuller and Arthur Siegel. After graduating he led an active life as a photojournalist fulfilling assignments all over the world for such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Ebony and Look. A lover of jazz, Mr. Williams also photographed for Down Beat, Playboy and Metronome. Ted not only has a remarkably sensitive eye, but a deep feeling for jazz and it's creators. His photo library covers the jazz scene from 1950 on and he has photographed over 90,000 images and over 300 jazz artists covering the topic. During the 1960's he documented all phases of the civil rights movement and subsequently, after an extended tour in Vietnam on assignment for Ebony and the Associated Press, he became enamored with Mexican life and culture and moved to Cuernavaca. While there he created images of bullfights, religious rites, fishing villages, carnivals and pre Hispanic ruins. He covered the historic 1968 Olympics in Mexico City for the International Olympics Committee and the 1984 Olympics for the Los Angeles Olympics Committee. There have been numerous exhibitions of his extraordinary photography in the United States and Mexico. Ted currently lives in California with his wife.
